JUNI VANDYKE
Juni is a true Cape Ann treasure! Her colorist paintings are informed by the area's natural beauty; the light sweeping across granite under foot; coastal views; hillside vistas — Cape Ann is an ever present force in Juni’s work. Using abstract forms, Juni invites the viewer to experience her work without interruption of title. Energized by the interaction, she finds the varied interpretations fascinating and exciting — valid without exception.
Miles Davis wrote: “Music is painting you can hear, and painting is music you can see.” Music and the Cape Ann landscape are the subliminal force directing my art. Both tether me to a love of color and the infinite configurations of abstraction. Traveling to my job in Gloucester, I cross over the elevated Annisquam bridge where below the sea is an ever changing miracle of patterns and light holding promise for later.
