All of my pieces are unique and my own design. I hand draw each pattern. After color selection, I transfer the pattern to the glass and cut each piece. I then grind each piece to ensure that it’s an exact fit. After washing and drying the glass, I use copper foil around the edges of each individual piece of glass. I then solder my piece together using lead solder and flux. The piece is then cleaned thoroughly and polished. Patina is applied to some pieces, which changes the color of the solder.
Stephanie Racine was born and raised in Medford, Massachusetts, and received her BFA from Salem State University where she focused on 3D studio art with a concentration in glass arts. Stephanie creates most of her work using the copper foil method, but also works with lead and zinc came for larger or more structural projects. She works most often on art pieces that can be placed anywhere within a space that allows the glass and light to interplay. She draws inspiration from nature, her garden, and watching her three children interact with both. She currently lives in North Reading with her family.
Stephanie works out of a large home studio and accepts commissions. Contact Stephanie at stephlracine@gmail.com or https://rosehillglass.com
